  • 12,7x99

The 12,7x99 was created by John Moses Browning in 1921 for the heavy machine gun M2. By form it’s a copy of the American cartridge 30-06, but very much larger. In the Swedish air force the cartridge has been used for automatic canon m/39 and m/45, both are Browning M2 aircraft machine guns. It is now used in AG90 and in heavy machine gun 90, that's located in the combat boat “Stridsbåt 90”. 12,7x99 is used in AG90 for destroying enemy equipment and mines.
In heavy machine gun 90 it’s used as a support weapon.
